@xaximus I know I won't qualify for any Chase card by December, my BK will only be 11 months old. I'd be willing to choose another card, just don't know what's out there as far as travel. And if I don't find anything, that's still okay. Just thought this card would be nice since I love sailing with Carnival.
On that note, I would try getting a Capital One card, either the Platinum or QS, once you have that, you can then do a PC to a Venture Rewards card, which is a good travel card. Even though the CL might be on the lower side, it'll help with establishing credit as well.
If you already have an Amex card odds are you will never see the 100k offer. So waiting out the 100k offer not only keeps you from the Platinum it keeps you from any other Amex card as well.

Too much Fantasy Island as a kid I suspect😜
Seriously I’m so glad I asked here or I would have left a longer trail of hp’s on Experian than the 22 there now 🙄
Well the good news there is not any real difference between having 21 and 22 hard pulls on your report.
I say wait unless you spend enough to benefit now from the Plat bonuses. If the card gives the 100k offer next month after applying then you lose but if they don't offer it for 5 years then you might as well get it. It's a risk of potentially missing out on a nice bonus but meanwhile you could be collecting with all the bonuses you could get from the card already.
Where are you reading this? I was looking at the terms for Chase Freedom Unlimited and didn't see it in there
My credit score is around 680-700. I have 8 months of CC history and 5 months with Chase all in good standing. I am getting CSP "Selected offers" on mobile and web with a green check. Two months ago I applied and was denied for the same card.
Is it worth trying again or should i wait until next month when i am at the 6 month mark? I really want this card but I also am concerned about the hard pull. From what I understand a selected offer is not a preapproval, but a green check makes it likely? There is a set APR listed as well.
Since my wife is an AU on my Discover I had discussed her getting a card and had her apply for the nRewards Secured card while talking to the new member rep on the phone. We had $500 transferred to her savings and had the application submitted. The lady on the phone (very nice by the way) said that it's now in pending status which she said was normal and that we should have an answer back in a few hours.
She was turned down for one of the unsecured cards which is understandable. We are 3 months post DC from our BK7 and are just looking to rebuild our credit with good financial institutions. We started with Discover and have heard very good things about NFCU so we want to establish a relationship with them.
Would there be any reason she could be turned down? Income is good, DTI is good. We are hoping with responsible use we can get it unsecured in 5-6 months and apply for one of their unsecured cards.
I have gotten 3 Amex revolvers this year and I only got hard pulled for the 1st one I’ve got. YMMV however.
Congrats! I can't wait to get there.
So it finally happened.. I got the letter for my 4th card, and the most cryptic wording i've ever seen in a letter....
EXTENUATING FACTORS EXIST REGARDING YOUR NFCU ACCOUNTS.
I called, and was told that due to the fact i had 3 cards already, i would not be given a fourth. Bummer, but on the plus side my gardening is still going strong since they didnt HP me since i already had 3 accts. Guess the "Unicorn" is really hard to get.
Crossing our fingers that my wife's NFCU nRewards Secured card application is approved. Still Review in Process.
I doubt they will pull if he is not at 6 months.
However, I have not heard of many being prequal then denied.
OP - just wait a few months, maybe your APR will go down also.
Did she apply online or with a phone call? I tried online and then the application process stalled out at the very end. I ended up having to call it in. I was on the phone with them for over an hour and they couldn't have been more helpful and more informed about my MANY questions. I love them already! I didn't want to wait the 5-7 business days for the card to be delivered so I opted for the 2 day Fed Ex delivery for an additional $12. They even waived the $12 fee for me because they WANTED TO!?! That's a first with any company. LOL I should be getting it by Friday I hope. If it wasn't for this thread and all the comments about how happy everyone is here with them then I would never have joined and applied with them. So grateful to you all...thank you!

My wife 1st applied for the Drlta Gold online, was approved. Then immediately applied for Green Card, screen popped up to call AMEX, she did. The rep had no clue why she was instructed to call and said account was already approved
Congrats to your DW approvals!!!
